Mad Mary's Junk Yard

I like to repurpose junk and turn it into art. My current obsession is angles for your home and garden! Using old spindles, antique ceiling tin and rusty old junk. Creating is my passion and also my therapy!

So why is it that I can't find any dressers to fix up?  There are none to be found at thrift stores or garage sales!  :(  ugh!  I'm ...
  • SOLD: Fire engine red dresser with 4 drawers. Measures 25"W x 40"H x 16"D $40.00
  • SOLD! This black highboy chest of drawers was loaded with layers of black and white paint! I power sanded most of it off to give it a really old, primitive look. It would look great in a kitchen to store all of your table linens or use in a little boys room for socks and undies! Measures 44"H x 24"W x 14"D $60.00

Got some great finds today!!!  Can't wait to get my hands dirty!  :)
  • So I found this small oak pedestal table at a garage sale and the top was in pretty bad shape. I completely stripped the top and power sanded the base and legs. Cleaned it up really good with TSP Cleaner. (I love that stuff) Now it is ready to be painted.
  • SOLD: And this is the finished product! I am so proud of this piece......it came out looking gorgeous! I picture this being used as a table for two in a small apartment. Just add two, cute little white picket wooden folding chairs or maybe something eclectic like tin chairs? It measures 36" round by 30" high and the base is finished in a chic blue with distressing and an antique glaze. $175.00.
  • Just finished working on a clients old, French Provincial furniture that was previously painted white with a blue trim. I gave it an updated Registration Hardware look.

  • Just refinished this gorgeous 48" round oak table to sell. Now I'm not sure I can part with it!
  • My friend and I refinish kitchen and bathroom cabinets! These were before and after pics of oak cabinets painted in a color called Jute with a chocolate glaze.

About Me

My photo
Mad Mary
I've raised two daugthers who are now off at college and I'm starting a new chapter in my life. Went back to work full-time but in my spare time I love walking, boating, spending time in my yard and garden and tinkering in my garage painting neglected pieces of furniture. I love the idea of not buying new and recycling an old dresser, desk or table etc..... the thrill of heading out to garage sales and getting that GREAT find!! I'm not happy if I don't have a project. My recent obsession is making angels for your home and garden.
